Middle Eastern and Frame Drumming Workshop Series

The first workshop

11th April 2010

Middle eastern and primarily Egyptian rhythms and styles, darbukka, duf (frame drum) and riqq. Beginners, improvers and intermediate.

It is often beneficial to look towards tradition and strong musical modes; to feel authenticity and see how rhythms have worked together for years and years. This is a chance to play new drums and explore soloing.

The Second Workshop

25th April 2010

Introduction to Frame Drumming

To explore and develop the frame drumming styles made popular by Glen Velez, amongst others. Now students can make the drum his/her own even more, with a chance to be creative and become familiar with a drumming style that seems to belong to the world community, not just to one region or country.

Both Workshop have a Complete Beginners Taster Class at 10am - 11am, which is £10 or £5 if you decide to continue with the rest of the day.

The main workshop will commence at 11.15 and finnish at 15.30 with a half an hour break. price- £30

Times same for both days.

There is a £10 discount for students doing both main workshops.
